Meet the Staff

DAN HAHN

Dan HAHNI am one of the three core founders behind the Fredonia Follower and early on took a leadership role. Originally developed to be a hard copy magazine, the Follower met obstacles in Fredonia’s Student Association (SA) and eventually was only realized after enormous help from the Hendrix Res Life staff, family support, and the financial aid of fellow students and clubs. Rising $1200 for the project, I sent the Follower to print and distributed the first edition across campus in spring of 2012.

In Fall the same year a second edition was printed and distributed this time with the aid of downtown businesses who invested in the magazine and carried most of the bill but realizing this model was completely unsustainable I moved the Fredonia Follower to its current online location. Thanks to time spent at the greatwriting blog under Randy Cronk I was taught how to blog professionally and how to maximize SEO to get the Fredonia Follower where it had to be in the Google search results.

Now more than 100 posts in and after generating all sorts of positive attention across campus, the Fredonia Follower is moving into a universally recognized part of the Fredonia culture. While I am immensely proud of how far we’ve come I know there is always room to grow and hope to leave a Fredonia Follower strong enough to continue growing into the future.
